Please join us to hear from Rabbi Eugene Levy about his new book, A Privileged Encounter: My Unique Experience with President Bill Clinton, 1987-2000.
Wednesday, March 30, noon-1 p.m. - Room 124, Arkansas Studies Institute Bldg. - 401 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock
Rabbi Levy was born in El Paso, Texas, and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Texas and the Rabbinic School at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is married with three adult children and two grandchildren. He served as the rabbi of Congregation B’nai Israel in Little Rock from 1987-2011. After retiring, he has continued to work both with smaller Jewish congregations and with churches in Arkansas and Louisiana. He has been very active in interfaith and civic activities. His family ties to politics have fueled his lifelong interest in this topic, and his book is a memoir which grew from the pictures, articles, and correspondence he saved to hand down to his children, pertaining to his relationship with Bill Clinton.
Copies of A Privileged Encounter will be available for purchase, and Rabbi Levy will sign books after his talk. This event is free, open to the public, and hosted by the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies.
