This year's Purim Shpiel is just around the corner...Thursday, March 1 to be precise.
Never been to an Adult Purim Shpiel and have absolutely no idea what we're talking about?
Most fun night of the year at the Temple, that's what!
Here's how it works:
Dress: Costume, no costume, but clothes, please.
Entertainment: Hilarious modern day romp through the Purim Story, filled with pop culture references for the young and old (everything from the ravens in 'Game of Thrones' to 'The Twilight Zone').
Written by Meg Marion and directed by Rebekah Scallet, this shpiel features a rockin' band led by David Bauman playing inventive takes on songs by Tom Petty, Arkansas' own Glen Campbell, The Beach Boys, David Bowie, The Everly Brothers, and more!
If you've never been to one of these, you ought to give it a shot, if only to see what the cast of 20 of your congregant friends has cooked up for you, and hear Mordechai aka David sing that famous Tom Petty song 'I Won't Bow Down' to Haman.
