Tzofim Friendship Caravan
The Tzofim Friendship Caravan is part of the delegation sent to North America to represent the State of Israel every summer. The Tzofim Friendship Caravan is a group of ten highly talented scouts and two adult leaders which travels throughout the United States and Canada, performing a lively musical program and interactive activities at camps, public gatherings, schools, community centers, hospitals and nursing homes.
The Caravan has appeared on over twelve different TV shows and several news spots, reaching over 90,000 viewers and entertaining groups ranging from 1 to 100 years of age. The program is composed of songs and dances in Hebrew and English that bring Israeli culture to North America. During the show the audience participates in the dances and cheers led by Caravan members. After the show, Caravan members mingle with the audience. They often form small groups, with the Caravan as discussion leaders, providing further opportunities for face-to-face interaction.
moreThe Tenenbaum Foundation and the Foundation for Jewish Camp have teamed up for an exciting new program – the Arkansas Camper Incentive Program. The spirit of this statewide program is that any Jewish child who is a first-time camper can go to any not-for-profit Jewish camp.
Arkansas Terms and Conditions:
• Residency in Arkansas (congregational affiliation is not required).
• First-time campers in a session of at least 21 days in duration are eligible for $1,250 in incentive dollars for their first time at camp.
• The money can be used for a first summer at ANY non-profit Jewish summer camp.
While there are a number of city-based incentive programs out there, with this launch, Arkansas becomes only the sixth state to have a statewide program in place. Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi (thanks to the Goldring Family Foundation), New Hampshire and New York are also matching this opportunity.
What a wonderful thing the Tenenbaum Foundation is doing for Jewish families in Arkansas. The program will further build the sense of Jewish community in the state of Arkansas, and model for our young people the importance of maintaining and contributing to that community.
